Prada: A fashion house with tradition!

These days, the fashion circus is in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week. All major journalists, TV teams, designers, bloggers and co. Are invited to celebrate the collections for the coming summer. A label is often seen at streetstyles, fashion parties and in the front row of the shows. It is the Italian brand Prada that always dresses the fashionistas and stars at important events and arouses fascination. We took a closer look at the fashion house.

It all started in 1913: Mario Prada and his brother Martino founded the label Fratelli Prada, to German brothers Prada. Initially, the Prada team focused only on the manufacture and sale of exclusive leather goods, such as gloves, bags and cases. The brand was appointed royal purveyor and so they managed to make their label gradually known. But the real breakthrough came only through the acquisition of granddaughter Miuccia Prada in 1978. With the acquisition of the company management by the bright Italian, the formerly staid and dusty leather goods company transformed within a very short time in one of the world’s leading fashion companies. The culprit was the shiny black handbags made of parachute nylon, designed in 1985

The comic film of the same name, which was released in 2006, should be known to all and is simply a cult. The “devil” in the story is played by Meryl Streep. She mimics the ice cold, aloof and overly successful editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly of the magazine Runway. The viewer quickly realizes that the scenery and the fictive magazine shown in reality should represent the everyday life in the publishing house of American Vogue. Miranda Priestly is none other than fashion legend Anna Wintour. Because exactly the attributes, which are shown exaggeratedly in the film, one says after the cool Britin. Her preference for the label Prada is undeniable. For the film premiere Anna Wintour appeared completely dressed in the Italian luxury label, proving self-irony..

Prada is always known for its innovative campaigns and effective productions. In the latest trick, however, the fashion world had to look twice and ask themselves: wait, is not that? Yes, seen correctly! The testimonial of the Fall / Winter campaign 2013 is namely Hollywood star and Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, who is indeed known for his outstanding acting performance, but with fashion had so far rather little on the hat. A bold step by Prada, but the footage is really impressive and Waltz is doing really well as a model!
